Regular Season Round 23: Hapoel Kazrin - Kiryat Tivon 93-61
Date: March 18, 2014
Not a big story in a game when 9th ranked Kiryat Tivon (10-13) was outscored on the road by second ranked Hapoel Kazrin (17-6) 93-61 on Tuesday. The game without a history. Hapoel Kazrin led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Hapoel Kazrin had a 34-23 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Kiryat Tivon's players. It was an exceptional evening for American forward David Loubeau (203-89, college: Texas A&M) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 28 points and 11 rebounds (on 11-of-12 shooting from the field). His fellow American import forward Erik Etherly (201, college: Loyola, MD) accounted for 27 points and 9 rebounds (on 13-of-16 shooting from the field) for the winning side. American forward Fred Hunter (196-89, college: Nicholls St., agency: SDJ Sports) came up with 19 points and 8 rebounds and point guard Alon Abramovich (192-93) added 3 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for Kiryat Tivon in the defeat. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Hapoel Kazrin maintains second place with 17-6 record behind leader Ironi Nahariya. Kiryat Tivon lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the ninth position with 13 games lost. They share it with Ironi K-A and Elitzur Ramla. Hapoel Kazrin will meet bottom-ranked Beer Yaakov (#14) on the road in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Kiryat Tivon will play against Ironi Ashkelon (#5) and hope to secure a win.
