Third-ranked Ramat Hasharon (12-9) used its home court advantage to challenge second ranked Maccabi Ashdod (18-3) on Wednesday. The visitors from Ashdod managed to secure only three-point victory 88-85. However their fans expected easier game. Maccabi Ashdod made 26-of-33 free shots (78.8 percent) during the game. Maccabi Ashdod outrebounded Ramat Hasharon 41-30 including 17 on the offensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Ramat Hasharon was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. American players dominated the game. Forward Tiffany Jackson (191-85, college: Texas) orchestrated the victory by scoring 16 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists. Power forward Danielle Adams (185-89, college: Texas A&M) contributed with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!) for the winners. Five Maccabi Ashdod players scored in double figures. Center Shamela Hampton (191-87, college: UNLV) answered with 34 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds (on 15-of-19 shooting from the field) and swingman Megan Frazee (193-87, college: Liberty) added 12 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Ramat Hasharon. Maccabi Ashdod have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain second place with 18-3 record behind leader Elitzur Holon. Ramat Hasharon at the other side keeps the third position with nine games lost.
