Quarter-Finals Round 1: Bakken - Aalborg 104-75

Bakken toppled Aalborg for 1-0 lead in the series. The game without a history. Bakken led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 20-of-26 free shots (76.9 percent) during the game. Bakken forced 27 Aalborg turnovers and outrebounded them 108-95 including 40 on the offensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 51 assists comparing to just 32 passes made by Aalborg's players. International power forward Nicolai Iversen (205-80, college: San Jose City JC) fired 17 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. The former international forward Morten Sahlertz (198-89) chipped in 17 points and 5 rebounds. Bakken's coach Ville Tuominen felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American forward Joe Burton (201-90, college: Oregon St.) produced a double-double by scoring 25 points and 11 rebounds and the other American import swingman Hillary Haley (198-88, college: Md-E Shore) added 19 points and 6 rebounds respectively for lost side. Five Bakken and four Aalborg players scored in double figures.
