D-League top team - D-Fenders (26-16) managed to deliver another win. This time they beat sixth ranked Austin Toros (16-27) 126-113. The game was mostly controlled by D-Fenders. Austin Toros was better in fourth quarter 32-25. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. D-Fenders dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to Austin Toros' 50. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 30 assists. It was a very good performance for forward Brandon Costner (206-87, college: N.Carolina St.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 26 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. Guard C.J. Williams (196-90, college: N.Carolina St.) contributed with 26 points and 5 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) for the winners. Guard Ronald Murray (190-79, college: Shaw) replied with 40 points (!!!) and guard Courtney Fells (196-86, college: N.Carolina St.) added 15 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Austin Toros. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Austin Toros' coach let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. D-Fenders maintains first position with 26-16 record. Austin Toros lost third consecutive game. They keep the sixth place with 27 games lost. D-Fenders will have a break next round. Austin Toros will play on the road against the league's leader Rio Grande Valley Vipers (#1) in Hidalgo and hope to win that game.
