Regular Season Round 13: Al Riyadi - Sagesse 72-73

The most shocking disappointment of round 13 was only one-point a home defeat of their biggest opponent Al Riyadi (9-4) to third ranked Sagesse (10-3) 73-72 in the game for the second place. It was a key game for the second position in the league. The guests trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 21-12 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. American center Chris Daniels (212-84, college: Limoges) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds for the winners and international point guard Rodrigue Akl (187-88) chipped in 10 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists. At the losing side Egyptian power forward Ahmad Ismail (205-76) responded with 17 points and 8 rebounds and international swingman Jean Abdel Nour (198-83) scored 13 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Sagesse and five Al Riyadi players scored in double figures. Sagesse have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to second place. Defending champion Al Riyadi dropped to the third position with four games lost. They share it with Moutahed. Sagesse's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Beirut Homenetm. B.
