Very important is a road loss of third ranked Svisloch (3-8) against fourth ranked Sozh Gomel (2-7) on Friday night. Visiting Svisloch was defeated by Sozh Gomel in a tough game in Gomel 95-100. Svisloch was tied at the half but could not keep up in last two quarters eventually losing the game. Sozh Gomel forced 20 Svisloch turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. Svisloch was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of international guard Kiril Sitnik (190-89, agency: Mike Diesel) who helped to win the game recording 25 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists and Ukrainian forward Ivan Kaliayev (201-87) who added 24 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side guard Siarhei Vabishchevich (192-88) responded with 27 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists and 7 steals and Ukrainian center Maksym Kozlovets (205-90) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Sozh Gomel maintains fourth position with 2-7 record. Svisloch lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the third place with eight games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
