Quarter-Finals Round 2: Lemvig - Vaerlose 85-51

Lemvig held off Vaerlose to reach the semifinal stage. The game was mostly controlled by Lemvig. Vaerlose was better in fourth quarter 19-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Vaerlose to just 7 points in first quarter. Lemvig dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Vaerlose's 30. Lemvig forced 23 Vaerlose turnovers and outrebounded them 144-72 including a 52-27 advantage in offensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. American power forward Raven Berry (185-88, college: SIU Edwardsville) notched a double-double by scoring 17 points and 20 rebounds to lead the effort and the other American import forward Emily Hatch (185-89, college: San Diego) supported her with 10 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists. Four Lemvig players scored in double figures. Even 16 points and 5 rebounds by Safia Sheikh (177-94) did not help to save the game for Vaerlose. Naturalized Saudi Arabian guard Hanna Sheikh (180-92) added 6 points and 6 rebounds for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.
