Eighth-ranked Olimpi (2-12) made lots of trouble for fourth ranked Sokhumi (8-5) in Tbilisi on Saturday. The visitors managed to secure only two-point victory 96-94. However their fans expected much easier game. The guests trailed by 8 points after first quarter, but they rallied back getting tie in the second period and winning the second half and won the game in overtime by 2 points. Sokhumi shot 26 for 41 from the free-throw line, while Olimpi only scored four points from the stripe. Olimpi was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. American forward Jeremy Simmons (204-89, college: Charleston, agency: Interperformances) fired a double-double by scoring 19 points and 15 rebounds for the winners. Forward Irakli Chlaidze (199-89) chipped in 23 points and 4 assists. International center Richard Matiashvili (207-89) produced a double-double by scoring 22 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists and the former international Nodar Tenieshvili (198-92) added 17 points and 6 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Sokhumi have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain fourth position with 8-5 record, which they share with MIA Academy. Olimpi lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the eighth place with 12 games lost. Sokhumi's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Tbilisi Maccabi Tbilisi.
