We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 5th ranked Hyogo S. (6-36) was defeated at home by sixth ranked Chiba Jets (14-31) 80-68 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 3 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 1-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 80-68. Chiba Jets outrebounded Hyogo S. 41-27 including 16 on the offensive glass. It was a great shooting night for Chiba Jets especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 57.9 percentage. American forward Alan Wiggins (206-85, college: USF) fired a double-double by scoring 21 points and 15 rebounds for the winners. Kosuke Ishii chipped in 22 points. Four Chiba Jets players scored in double figures. American forward Carl Hall (203-89, college: Wichita St.) produced a double-double by scoring 23 points and 11 rebounds and guard Tadahiro Yanagawa (183-86) added 12 points and 4 assists respectively for lost side. Newly promoted Chiba Jets maintains sixth position with 14-31 record. Hyogo S. lost twentiethth consecutive game. Hyogo S. at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the fifth place with 36 games lost. Chiba Jets will face higher ranked Hitachi Sunrockers (#5) in Tokyo in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Hyogo S. will play at home against the league's leader Aishin Sea Horses and hope to win that game.
