Rather expected game when 9th ranked Maccabi Tbilisi (1-15) was rolled over at home by sixth ranked Batumi (8-6) 130-74 on Saturday. The game without a history. Batumi led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 74 of its points in the paint compared to Maccabi Tbilisi's 48. Batumi forced 23 Maccabi Tbilisi turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. Guard Nika Ramishvili (182-94) fired 27 points, 6 assists and 6 steals (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) for the winners. American swingman Jeremy Saffold (198-91, college: Wisc.-Parkside, agency: N.E.T.) chipped in a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds. Five Batumi players scored in double figures. Center Giorgi Revazashvili (208-91) produced 44 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds (made all of his seven free throws) and center Maizer Revazashvili (202-96) added 10 points and 13 rebounds respectively for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Batumi maintains sixth position with 8-6 record. Newly promoted Maccabi Tbilisi stay at the bottom place with 15 games lost. Batumi will have a break next round. Maccabi Tbilisi's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Tbilisi to the arena Sokhumi.
