There was a small surprise when ninth ranked Aiolos Trikallon (9-13) defeated on the road 7th ranked Apollon Patras (9-13) 74-67 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 5 points after three quarters before their 29-17 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Aiolos Trikallon dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Apollon Patras' 16. It was a very good performance for American-Jamaican power forward Patrick Ewing Jr. (203-84, college: Georgetown) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds. American forward Chris Evans (203-91, college: Kent St.) contributed with 13 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Four Aiolos Trikallon players scored in double figures. Aiolos Trikallon's coach Kostas Flevarakis used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American forward Jeremiah Wilson (205-88, college: Tarleton St.) replied with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds and his fellow American import forward Lenny Daniel (203-87, college: CS Northridge) added 8 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Apollon Patras. Aiolos Trikallon moved-up to seventh place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Apollon Patras. Aiolos Trikallon will face league's second-placed Olympiacos in Athens in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
