Regular Season Round 21: Pau Orthez - SIG 83-61

Very predictable result when third ranked Pau Lacq Orthez (14-6) rolled over at home 8th ranked SIG (9-11) 83-61 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Pau Lacq Orthez. SIG was better in third quarter 18-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 18-of-20 free shots (90.0 percent) during the game. It was a good game for American guard Lakevia Boykin (175-91, college: Wake Forest) who led her team to a victory with 21 points and 6 rebounds. Power forward Marion Arfelis (186-91) contributed with 19 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Four Pau Lacq Orthez players scored in double figures. Pau Lacq Orthez's coach Aurelie Lopez felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. point guard Kathleen Bourdin (162-87) answered with 13 points and 5 assists and forward Darline NSoki (182-89) added 11 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for SIG. The victory was the third consecutive win for Pau Lacq Orthez. They maintain third place with 14-6 record having five points less than leader COB Calais. SIG lost their third game in a row. They keep the eighth position with 11 games lost. Pau Lacq Orthez will face league's second-placed Roche in La Roche in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. SIG will play at home against Avenir (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
