Regular Season Round 21: Gran Canaria - Perfumerias 73-63

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-ranked Perfumerias Avenida (17-3) in Las Palmas on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by third ranked Gran Canaria (13-8) 73-63. It ended at the same time the nine-game winning streak of Perfumerias Avenida. The hosts trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 1-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 73-63. Naturalized Senegalese center Astou Ndour (198-94) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 29 points and 15 rebounds for the winners and American forward Chelsea Davis (188-90, college: Florida St.) chipped in 13 points and 10 rebounds. Four Gran Canaria players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Montenegrin-American swingman Eshaya Murphy (181-85, college: USC) with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds and Croatian center Marija Rezan (198-89) scored 10 points. Gran Canaria maintains third place with 13-8 record having three points less than leader Perfumerias. Defending champion Perfumerias Avenida still keeps top position with three games lost. Gran Canaria are looking forward to face Jopisa Burgos (#6) on the road in the next round. Perfumerias Avenida will play against Zamarat (#11) in Zamora and is hoping to win this game.
