An interesting game took place in Seu D'urgell where higher ranked Jopisa Burgos (10-11) was upset on the court of ninth ranked Cadi ICG S. (9-12) 64-51. It looked good early as Jopisa Burgos took an 4-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Cadi ICG S. had a 18-9 second period charge getting the lead and Jopisa Burgos was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 51-64. Strangely Jopisa Burgos outrebounded Cadi ICG S. 38-25 including 26 on the defensive glass. It was a good game for American swingman Aja Parham (183-84, college: Boston Coll.) who led her team to a victory with 19 points and 5 rebounds. point guard Maria Asurmendi (168-86) contributed with 13 points for the winners. Guard Berta Chumillas (173-90) answered with 9 points and 8 rebounds and American forward Adaora Elonu (185-90, college: Texas A&M) added 7 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Jopisa Burgos. Cadi ICG S. moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Mann Filter and Conquero. Jopisa Burgos lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the sixth position with 11 games lost. Cadi ICG S.'s next round opponent will be higher ranked Pais Vasco (#7) in San Sebastian and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
