Regular Season Round 23: Wildcats - Hawks 86-65

An interesting game for Perth Wildcats (21-7) which hosted in Perth 4th placed Wollongong Hawks (13-15). First ranked Perth Wildcats had an easy win 86-65. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Wollongong Hawks. The hosts trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 3-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 86-65. Perth Wildcats dominated on the defensive end, holding Wollongong Hawks to just 6 points in third quarter. They outrebounded Wollongong Hawks 40-27 including 26 on the defensive glass. It was an exceptional evening for American guard Jermaine Beal (191-87, college: Vanderbilt) who led the winners and scored 15 points and 6 rebounds. His fellow American import swingman James Ennis (201-90, college: Long Beach St.) accounted for 17 points for the winning side. Swingman Timothy Coenraad (201-85, college: Nova SE) came up with 13 points and American swingman Kevin Tiggs (193-84, college: E.Tenn.St.) added 10 points and 5 assists respectively for Wollongong Hawks in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Perth Wildcats maintains first place with 21-7 record. Loser Wollongong Hawks keep the fourth position with 15 games lost.
