Bottom-ranked Maccabi Ashdod managed to get a fifth victory, breaking the two-game losing streak. This time they won against ninth-ranked GreenTops Netanya 96-88. The guests were already 11 points ahead at halftime and as many as 15 after three quarters before a 34-27 last quarter charge of GreenTops Netanya cut the lead to 96-88 at the end of the game. Strangely GreenTops Netanya outrebounded Maccabi Ashdod 34-20 including a 14-2 advantage in offensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three nailing 12 long-distance shots on high 66.7 percentage. Maccabi Ashdod players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. 27 personal fouls committed by GreenTops Netanya helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Americans were the main players on the court. It was a good game for Marcus Dove (206-85, college: Oklahoma St.) who led his team to a victory with 25 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. point guard Kenny Hayes (188-87, college: Miami, OH, agency: Priority Sports) contributed with 22 points and 8 assists for the winners. Guard Dawan Robinson (188-82, college: Rhode Island) replied with 29 points and 5 assists and swingman Julien Mills (193-85, college: Ball St.) added 13 points and 12 rebounds in the effort for GreenTops Netanya. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Maccabi Ashdod maintains twelfth position with 5-19 record. GreenTops Netanya lost third consecutive game. They keep the ninth place with 17 games lost. Maccabi Ashdod's next round opponent will be higher ranked Maccabi Rishon (#10) in Rishon Le-Zion and it may be quite challenging game.
