There was a minor upset in Niederanven where one of their biggest challengers Heffingen (4-20) was edged by fourth ranked Grengewald (13-11) 82-79 on Sunday. Heffingen trailed by 13 points after 3 quarters before a 28-18 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 79-82 at the end of the game. Naturalized French center Yannick Julien (195-84) scored 21 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the charge for the winners and American guard Darious Clark (190-90, college: Slippery Rock) chipped in 13 points, 15 rebounds and 6 assists during the contest. Four Grengewald players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American forward Dominique Morrison (198-89, college: ORU) with a double-double by scoring 32 points and 10 rebounds and Sudanese power forward Teeng Akol (211-88, college: W.Kentucky) scored 10 points and 9 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Newly promoted Grengewald maintains fourth position with 13-11 record which they share with defeated Heffingen. Heffingen at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the fourth place with 20 games lost. Grengewald will face league's leader Etzella in Ettelbruck in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Heffingen will play at home against the league's second-placed Racing and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
