No shocking result in a game when first ranked Panathinaikos (21-1) crushed 13th ranked Ikaros (6-16) in Kalitheas 85-64 on Sunday. The guests were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Panathinaikos outrebounded Ikaros 36-24 including a 30-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of Croatian point guard Roko-Leni Ukic (196-84, agency: XL Basketball Agency) who helped to win the game recording 11 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. International swingman Michael Bramos (196-87, college: Miami, OH) contributed with 16 points (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) for the winners. Four Panathinaikos players scored in double figures. U.S. Virgin Islands-Puerto Rican forward Ivan Aska (200-90, college: Murray St.) replied with 14 points and 7 rebounds and American guard Anthony Roberson (189-83, college: Florida) added 12 points and 5 assists in the effort for Ikaros. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Panathinaikos have an impressive 21-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 21-1 record. Ikaros at the other side dropped to the twelfth place with 16 games lost. Panathinaikos will face Kolossos (#11) in Rodou in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Ikaros will play on the road against Ilysiakos in Athens and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
