Important game to mention about took place in Eilat. Fifth ranked Hapoel Eilat (15-9) saved a 2-point victory at home edging 6th ranked Ironi Nes-Ziona (13-11) 88-86 on Monday evening. It looked good early as Ironi Nes-Ziona took an 2-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Hapoel Eilat had a 17-11 second period charge getting the lead and Ironi Nes-Ziona was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 86-88. Hapoel Eilat made 17-of-20 charity shots (85.0 percent) during the game. The winners were led by American swingman Kevin Palmer (198-87, college: Texas A&M-CC) who scored that evening 17 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals and the former international Nitzan Hanochi (194-86) supported him with 19 points and 4 assists (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). Four Hapoel Eilat players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 28 points and 10 rebounds by American forward Diamon Simpson (201-87, college: St.Mary's, CA) did not help to save the game for Ironi Nes-Ziona. His fellow American import forward Tyler Honeycutt (203-90, college: UCLA) added 18 points, 10 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals. Hapoel Eilat have an impressive five-game winning streak.
