Another interesting game was a derby match between two teams from Beirut: Homenetm. B (#6) and Sagesse (#2). Sagesse was defeated at home 63-68 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Sagesse. It looked good early as Sagesse took an 9-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Homenetm. B took control winning two of next three quarters and eventually winning the game that evening by 5 points. American point guard Dion Dixon (190-89, college: Cincinnati) orchestrated the victory by scoring 30 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists. The other American import center Terrence Leather (204-81, college: S.Florida) contributed with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. American center Chris Daniels (212-84, college: Limoges) replied with 13 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and the former international Elie Stephan (193-86, college: Alabama So. CC) added 14 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Sagesse. Homenetm. B (7-7) have an impressive five-game winning streak. Newly promoted Homenetm. B maintains sixth position. Sagesse at the other side keeps the second place with four games lost. They share the position with Moutahed and Al Riyadi. Homenetm. B will play against Tadamon (#7) in the next round. Sagesse will play against Bejjeh (#9) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
