Second Stage Round 1: AZS Koszalin - Asseco 68-66 OT

The biggest surprise of round 1 in TBL took place in Koszalin where host AZS Koszalin (10-13) edged Asseco (11-12) 68-66 in overtime on Tuesday evening. The hosts trailed by 6 points after three quarters before their 25-19 charge, which allowed them to tie the game at the end of regular time and get a 2-point victory in overtime. AZS Koszalin outrebounded Asseco 47-27 including a 30-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. American center Darrell Harris (205-84, college: Rhode Island) fired a double-double by scoring 19 points and 14 rebounds for the winners. The former international point guard Krzysztof Szubarga (178-84) chipped in 12 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. American point guard A.J. Walton (184-90, college: Baylor) produced 21 points, 6 assists and 6 steals and Russian Fedor Dmitriev (204-84, agency: Alti Sport) added 11 points respectively for lost side. Four Asseco players scored in double figures. Asseco's coach David Dedek rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Asseco will play next round against Kotwica trying to make it back to the top of the standings. AZS Koszalin will try to continue on its current victory against Stabill Jezioro in Tarnobrzeg.
