Second Stage Round 1: Anwil - Stelmet ZG 68-77

There was no surprise in Wloclawek where Anwil (13-10) was defeated by Stelmet ZG (18-5) 77-68 on Wednesday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Anwil won third quarter 20-19. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Stelmet ZG dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Anwil's 34. The former international point guard Lukasz Koszarek (187-84) fired 16 points, 8 assists and 4 steals for the winners. Montenegrin power forward Vladimir Dragicevic (206-86) chipped in 13 points. Stelmet ZG's coach Mihailo Uvalin allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. The former international Mateusz Kostrzewski (200-89) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds and naturalized Bosnian power forward Seid Hajric (203-83) added 12 points and 6 rebounds respectively for lost side. Four Anwil players scored in double figures. Stelmet ZG will face Trefl Sopot (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Anwil will play against Energa Czarni and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
