Important game to mention about took place in Minsk. Third ranked Borisfen (11-9) saved a 1-point victory on the road edging second-best Impuls BGUIR (11-10) 76-75 in the game for the second place. It was a key game for the second position in the league. Impuls BGUIR was ahead by 3 points at the halftime before a 16-9 third quarter run of Borisfen. They also forced 23 Impuls BGUIR turnovers. Strangely Impuls BGUIR outrebounded Borisfen 55-35 including a 38-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. Guard Rostislav Vergun (198-82, college: Birm.Southern) scored 23 points, 6 assists and 5 steals to lead the charge for the winners and Andrei Aheyenka (194-92) chipped in 15 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was Henadziy Zahar (198-92) with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 14 rebounds and forward Yuriy Ignatev (198-91) produced a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds. Five Borisfen and four Impuls BGUIR players scored in double figures. Borisfen moved-up to second place. Impuls BGUIR at the other side dropped to the third position with ten games lost. Borisfen will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Impuls BGUIR will play again at home against the league's second-placed Borisfen and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
