Very expected game in Gdynia where Kotwica (4-20) was defeated by Asseco (12-12) 82-69 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by Asseco. Kotwica was better in fourth quarter 27-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Asseco forced 19 Kotwica turnovers. It was a great shooting night for Asseco especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 57.9 percentage. The best player for the winners was American point guard A.J. Walton (184-90, college: Baylor) who scored 27 points, 5 assists and 4 steals. Russian Fedor Dmitriev (204-84, agency: Alti Sport) chipped in 18 points. The former international center Rafal Bigus (214-76, college: Villanova) produced 9 points and 9 rebounds and American swingman J.J. Montgomery (193-82, college: Arkansas St.) added 14 points respectively for the guests. Asseco will face Slask Wroclaw at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Kotwica will play against Stabill Jezioro (#5) in Tarnobrzeg and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
