There was an upset when higher ranked Leche Rio Breogan (17-8) was defeated on the road by tenth ranked Lleida Basquet (11-14) 85-77 on Friday. The hosts trailed by 8 points after three quarters before their 32-16 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Lleida Basquet looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The best player for the winners was center Victor Arteaga (212-92) who had a double-double by scoring 23 points and 15 rebounds (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field). Lithuanian forward Osvaldas Matulionis (200-91, agency: Dynamics Global Management) chipped in 22 points and 8 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Dutch power forward Roeland Schaftenaar (211-88, college: Oregon St.) who recorded a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds and Senegalese center Michel Diouf (208-89) added 12 points and 10 rebounds respectively. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Lleida Basquet moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Clinicas Rincon. Leche Rio Breogan at the other side keeps the fourth position with eight games lost. Lleida Basquet will face again higher ranked Leche Rio Breogan (#4) in Lugo in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
