Regular Season Round 36: St Quentin - Poitiers 67-71
Date: March 28, 2014
We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams when tenth ranked Poitiers (18-18) defeated on the road 9th ranked Saint-Quentin (18-18) 71-67 on Friday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 21-13. But Saint-Quentin won second period 17-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was American-British power forward Laurence Ekperigin (201-88, college: Le Moyne) who had a double-double by scoring 21 points, 15 rebounds and 5 assists. American-Dominican swingman Jeff Greer (196-79, college: Rutgers) chipped in 13 points and 5 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American Markel Humphrey (198-87, college: Marshall, agency: Three Eye Sports) who recorded 13 points and 8 rebounds and his fellow American import power forward Nigel Wyatte (204-81, college: Wagner, agency: Court Side) added 16 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Poitiers moved-up to ninth place, which they share with St Quentin. Poitiers will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Saint-Quentin will play against Souffelweyersheim (#13) and hope to secure a win.
