Regular Season Round 107: Tulsa 66ers - Rio Grande VV 127-108

The most crucial game of the last round was another loss of top-ranked Rio Grande Valley Vipers (29-18) in Tulsa on Friday night. Visitors were rolled over by fourth ranked 66ers (22-25) 127-108. The game was mostly controlled by 66ers. Rio Grande Valley Vipers managed to win third quarter 32-26. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. 66ers made 32-of-40 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. 27 personal fouls committed by Rio Grande Valley Vipers helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a great evening for guard Mustafa Shakur (190-84, college: Arizona) who led his team to a victory with a triple-double by scoring 29 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line). Mario Little (198-87, college: Kansas) helped adding 25 points. Forward Robert Covington (206-90, college: Tennessee St.) responded with 28 points and 8 rebounds and guard Bo Spencer (185-89, college: Nebraska) scored 14 points and 6 rebounds. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. 66ers maintains fourth place with 22-25 record. Rio Grande Valley Vipers lost fifth consecutive game. They still keep top position with 18 games lost. 66ers are looking forward to face Austin Toros (#6) at home in the next round. Rio Grande Valley Vipers will play against Texas Legends (#5) and are hoping to win this game.
