Regular Season Round 22: Roche - Pau Orthez 80-48

The game between Top Four teams took place in La Roche. Second ranked host Roche (16-5) smashed one of their biggest challengers Pau Lacq Orthez (14-7) 80-48. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Pau Lacq Orthez. The game without a history. Roche led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Pau Lacq Orthez to just 5 points in third quarter. Roche dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Pau Lacq Orthez's 22. They outrebounded Pau Lacq Orthez 42-28 including 31 on the defensive glass. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Roche made 8 blocks. At the losing side Senegalese forward Awa Gueye (182-78) responded with 12 points and 7 rebounds and point guard Velia Bosch (166-88) scored 8 points and 5 rebounds. Roche maintains second position with 16-5 record having four points less than leader COB Calais. Pau Lacq Orthez at the other side keeps the third place with seven games lost. Roche are looking forward to face LTB 29 (#7) in Pleyber-Christ in the next round where they are favorite. Pau Lacq Orthez will play at home against Reims (#8) and is hoping to prove to their fans that the loss was just an accident.
