There was a minor upset in Mogi das Cruzes where 9th ranked SKY/Basquete (15-17) was crushed by twelfth ranked Mogi (14-18) 96-74 on Saturday. The game without a history. Mogi led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They also forced 21 SKY/Basquete turnovers and outrebounded them 39-26 including 25 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international forward Marcus Vinicius Toledo (203-86) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 22 points and 11 rebounds and point guard Gustavinho Lima (178-85) who added 12 points and 11 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was American guard Nick Williams (193-89, college: Mississippi) with 16 points (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!) and guard Victor De Gusmao (188-93) scored 11 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Mogi have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain twelfth position with 14-18 record. SKY/Basquete lost third consecutive game. They keep the ninth place with 17 games lost.
