Regular Season Round 2: Navolato - Culiacan 91-95

The most surprising game was a loss of Garra Canera de Navolato (1-1) at the home court on Saturday night. Hosts were defeated by Caballeros de Culiacan (1-1) 95-91. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 27-18. But Garra Canera de Navolato won third quarter 25-18. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Caballeros de Culiacan shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 58.3 percentage. American guard Abdul Mills (191-79, college: Nebraska-Omaha) scored 34 points (!!!), 6 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import Benjamin Puckett (205-83, college: Clayton St., agency: I.D.S. Law) chipped in 14 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. American forward Ronald Selleaze (197-76, college: CSU Bakersfield) responded with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists and forward Froylan Verdugo (196-79) scored 13 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Caballeros de Culiacan is looking forward to face Ostioneros de Guaymas (#6) on the road in the next round. Garra Canera de Navolato will play against Mineros de Caborca in Cananea and is hoping to win this game.
