The game with biggest result difference took place in Caracas. Local Panteras (3-23) lost to fourth ranked Toros (14-12) 107-90 on Saturday night. Toros outrebounded Panteras 38-22 including a 27-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was Dominican guard Kelvin Pena (193-80, college: Southeastern CC) who scored 30 points and 4 assists. American power forward Anthony Laveal Johnson (203-88, college: Fairfield) chipped in 20 points and 7 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American swingman Ollie Bailey (201-85, college: Oklahoma City) who recorded 26 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and the former international power forward Luis Julio (201-80) added 10 points and 8 rebounds respectively. Four Toros and five Panteras players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Toros have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain fourth position with 14-12 record. Panteras at the other side stay dead last with 23 lost games. Toros will face Gigantes (#8) in Puerto Ordaz in the next round. Panteras will play at home against Guaiqueries and hope to win that game.
