No shocking result in a game when first ranked Talje Knights (12-1) defeated on the road 3rd placed Trelleborg (7-6) 85-80 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 8 points after three quarters before their 23-10 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Talje Knights dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Trelleborg's 20. They outrebounded Trelleborg 43-29 including 31 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was Samuel Berkelund (201-97) who scored 24 points and 6 rebounds. Guard Sheriff Drammeh (186-96) chipped in 12 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists. Four Talje Knights players scored in double figures. Naturalized Bosnian forward Srdjan Vukovic (197-86) produced a double-double by scoring 37 points (!!!) and 15 rebounds and point guard Basem Abdulkader (180-94) added 10 points respectively for the hosts. Talje Knights have an impressive series of twelve victories in a row. They maintain first place with 12-1 record. Newly promoted Trelleborg dropped to the fifth position with six games lost. Talje Knights will face Haga Haninge (#8) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Trelleborg will play against Helsingborg and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
