Top ranked Cocodrilos (19-5) recorded its fifth loss in Porlamar on Saturday night. Visitors were edged by fifth ranked Guaiqueries (13-12) 80-77. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Cocodrilos. Guaiqueries dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Cocodrilos' 36. The best player for the winners was the former international Tulio Cobos (197-86, college: Northeastern St.) who scored 24 points and 9 rebounds. American swingman Anthony Danridge (196-86, college: N.Mexico) chipped in 16 points and 6 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American power forward Kristoffer Lang (211-79, college: N.Carolina, agency: SportsTalent) who recorded a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds and the former international guard Jesus Centeno (190-85) added 12 points and 9 assists respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Cocodrilos' coach Nestor Salazar rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Guaiqueries maintains fifth position with 13-12 record. Defending champion Cocodrilos still keep top place with five games lost. Guaiqueries are looking forward to face bottom-ranked Panteras (#10) in Caracas in the next round where they are favorite. Cocodrilos will play at home against Guaros (#6) and are hoping to win this game.
