Very expected game when 15th ranked Universo/Goiania (9-23) was defeated on the road by ninth ranked Paschoalotto/Bauru (18-14) 85-78 on Saturday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Universo/Goiania won third quarter 27-19. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Paschoalotto/Bauru looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international point guard Larry Taylor (185-80, college: Missouri Western) who helped to win the game recording a triple-double by scoring 18 points, 10 rebounds and 11 assists and the former international power forward Murilo Becker (210-83) who added 15 points during the contest. Paschoalotto/Bauru's coach Jorge Guerra allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. The best for the losing side was Uruguayan forward Emilio Taboada (191-82) with 30 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists and forward Andre Coimbra (205-86, college: Cent.Michigan) scored 14 points (perfect from the field making all six shots). Paschoalotto/Bauru moved-up to eighth place. Loser Universo/Goiania dropped to the sixteenth position with 23 games lost.
