We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams in Athens where fourteenth ranked Ilysiakos (6-17) beat 13th ranked Ikaros (6-17) 79-71 on Saturday. Ikaros was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. It was a great evening for forward Stelios Ioannou (196-87) who led his team to a victory scoring 17 points and 9 rebounds. The former international guard Nikos Chatzis (196-76) helped adding 19 points. Four Ilysiakos players scored in double figures. Guard Yannis Gagaloudis (192-78) responded with 19 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals and American guard Anthony Roberson (189-83, college: Florida) scored 22 points. Ilysiakos moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with Ikaros and Panelefsiniakos. Ikaros lost third consecutive game. Ilysiakos will face higher ranked Kolossos (#11) in Rodou in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
