Regular Season Round 36: Limeira - Brasilia 74-70

Date: March 29, 2014
We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when one of their biggest challengers Brasilia (21-11) was defeated on the road by fourth ranked Winner/Limeira (21-11) 74-70 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 3 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 8-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 74-70. Winner/Limeira dominated on the defensive end, holding Brasilia to just 6 points in second quarter. They made 17-of-18 free shots (94.4 percent) during the game. Winner/Limeira forced 24 Brasilia turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard David Jackson (196-82, college: Penn St.) who helped to win the game recording 20 points and Dominican-American guard Ronald Ramon (182-86, college: Pittsburgh) who added 21 points and 5 rebounds during the contest (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line). The best for the losing side was the former international point guard Welington Dos Santos (185-81) with 22 points, 7 assists and 4 steals and the former international Arthur Silva (198-82) scored 19 points. Winner/Limeira moved-up to third place, which they share with defeated Brasilia. Brasilia lost third consecutive game.
