Regular Season Round 2: Caborca - Tijuana 82-100

Date: March 29, 2014
The game in Cananea supposed to be also worth to mention about. Tijuana Zonkeys (2-0) played at the court of Mineros de Caborca (0-2). Tijuana Zonkeys did not have too big problems ending evening with a very confident victory 100-82. The game without a history. Tijuana Zonkeys led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. American guard Trayvon Lathan (201-84, college: Chowan, agency: Elite Talent Exchange) notched 25 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists to lead the effort and point guard Luis Ramirez (180-82) supported him with 21 points and 5 assists (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Worth to mention Lathan played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped get the job in pro basketball. Even 23 points and 6 assists by American guard Jason Horton (188-86, college: Missouri) did not help to save the game for Mineros de Caborca. His fellow American import swingman Justin Watts (196-90, college: N.Carolina) added 19 points and 5 rebounds for the hosts. Five Tijuana Zonkeys and four Mineros de Caborca players scored in double figures. Tijuana Zonkeys will play against Trigueros de Ciudad Obregon (#7) at home in the next round where they are favorite. Mineros de Caborca will play against Garra Canera de Navolato to get more than just one victory in their record.
