There was no surprise when 11th ranked Pabellon Ourense (2-18) was defeated at home by eighth ranked Cafe Barco (8-12) 70-61 on Saturday. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 22-11. But Pabellon Ourense won second period 16-15. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Cafe Barco forced 20 Pabellon Ourense turnovers. The best player for the winners was guard Regina Gomez (173-82) who scored 28 points and 6 rebounds. Swingman Maria Bolonio (180-85) chipped in a double-double by scoring 18 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. Stacy Zamroz produced a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds and guard Noelia Oliva (175-88) added 17 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 9 steals respectively for the hosts. Newly promoted Cafe Barco maintains eighth position in Group A with 8-12 record, which they share with Aros Leon. Pabellon Ourense lost fifteenth consecutive game. They keep the eleventh place with 18 games lost. Cafe Barco will face higher ranked ADBA (#5) in Aviles in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Pabellon Ourense will play at home against Cortegada (#7) and hope to win that game.
