Regular Season Round 25: AV Cantu - Cimberio VA 84-68

There was no surprise when 11th ranked Cimberio Varese (10-15) was defeated on the road by second ranked Cantu (17-8) 84-68. The game was mostly controlled by Cantu. Cimberio Varese was better in fourth quarter 25-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Cantu dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Cimberio Varese's 32. The former international Pietro Aradori (194-88) nailed 25 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists (made all of his eight free throws) for the winning side and American point guard Joe Ragland (182-89, college: Wichita St.) accounted for 16 points and 5 assists. Cantu's coach Stefano Sacripanti used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. American guard Adrian Banks (191-86, college: NW Mississippi CC) came up with 17 points and 5 assists and Serbian power forward Marko Scekic (207-81, agency: Beo Basket) added 12 points and 10 rebounds respectively for Cimberio Varese in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Cantu maintains second place with 17-8 record having just three points less than leader EA7 Armani, which they share with Montepaschi and Enel Brindisi. Cimberio Varese at the other side keeps the eleventh position with 15 games lost. Cantu's next round opponent will be league's leader Armani Milano on the road and it will be for sure the game of the week. Cimberio Varese will play against Juvecaserta (#8) and hope to win that game.
