Top ranked Monaco (24-3) recorded its third loss on the court of twelfth ranked Lourdes-Tarbes on Saturday night. Visitors were rolled over by Lourdes-Tarbes 96-77. It ended at the same time the 24-game winning streak of Monaco. Lourdes-Tarbes made 20-of-20 free shots (100 percent !!!) during the game. They outrebounded Monaco 36-25 including 27 on the defensive glass. Lourdes-Tarbes looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. 24 personal fouls committed by Monaco helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The former international guard Xane Dalmeida (183-83) fired a double-double by scoring 23 points, 6 rebounds and 12 assists for the winners. American-Dutch center Brian Freeman (208-86, college: Long Beach St., agency: R.H.Consultancy) chipped in a double-double by scoring 13 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists. American-Nigerian Derrick Obasohan (199-81, college: Texas Arlington, agency: Beo Basket) produced 23 points and 5 assists (made all of his seven free throws) and forward Olivier Bardet (203-80) added 19 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. Five Lourdes-Tarbes and four Monaco players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Newly promoted Lourdes-Tarbes maintains twelfth position with 12-15 record. Monaco at the other side still keeps top place with three games lost. Lourdes-Tarbes are looking forward to face Cognac BB (#14) on the road in the next round. Monaco will play against Montbrison (#17) and is hoping to win this game.
