Second Stage Round 2: Trefl Sopot - Stelmet ZG 88-89 OT

Trefl Sopot (#3) forced the game against Stelmet ZG (#2) into an overtime, but lost by one point 88-89 on Sunday night. The game took place in Sopot. But the guests from Zielona Gora were better at the end. The guests trailed by 2 points after three quarters before their 20-18 charge, which allowed them to tie the game at the end of regular time and get a 1-point victory in overtime. The best player for the winners was the former international point guard Lukasz Koszarek (187-84) who scored 24 points and 9 assists. Montenegrin power forward Vladimir Dragicevic (206-86) chipped in 24 points and 6 rebounds. Four Stelmet ZG players scored in double figures. American point guard Lance Jeter (190-88, college: Nebraska) produced 25 points and 5 rebounds and international swingman Adam Waczynski (199-89) added 17 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Stelmet ZG will face Energa Czarni (#6) in Slupsk in the next round where they are favorite. Trefl Sopot will play at home against Rosa Radom and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
