The game between second ranked Matera (16-11) and twelfth ranked Proger BLS (13-14) was the most important one in the last round on Sunday night. Matera was defeated by Proger BLS in Chieti 67-82. The game was mostly controlled by Proger BLS. Matera managed to win third quarter 21-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Proger BLS well out of reach of Matera shooting 74.3 percent from the field and made 84-of-87 free shots (96.6 percent) during the game. His fellow American import power forward Matt Shaw (203-88, college: UNLV, agency: Two Points) contributed with 12 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Naturalized Argentinian guard Carlos Sebastian Vico (190-86, agency: Players Group) answered with 20 points and 5 assists and American forward Kyle Austin (203-88, college: Cal-Riverside) added 14 points in the effort for Matera. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Proger BLS moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Roseto. Matera at the other side keeps the second position with 11 games lost. They share it with Ferrara and Treviglio. Proger BLS is looking forward to face higher ranked P.Mantovana (#7) in Mirandola in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Matera will play at home against Roseto (#10) and is hoping to win this game.
