Date: March 30, 2014
Rather predictable result in Beirut where second ranked Sagesse (12-4) defeated 5th ranked Byblos (10-6) 81-75 on Sunday. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. American center Chris Daniels (212-84, college: Limoges) fired a double-double by scoring 28 points, 12 rebounds and 4 blocks (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field) for the winners. International point guard Rodrigue Akl (187-88) chipped in a double-double by scoring 17 points, 11 rebounds and 9 assists (made all of his eight free throws). Sagesse keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Al Riyadi and Amchit. Loser Byblos keep the fifth place with six games lost. Sagesse will meet at home Champville (#8) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Byblos will play against Tadamon and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
