An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Jerusalem. First ranked Hapoel Jerusalem faced 3rd placed Hapoel Tel-Aviv. Host Hapoel Jerusalem (20-5) defeated guests from Tel-Aviv (15-10) 102-87. It looked good early as Hapoel Tel-Aviv took an 6-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Hapoel Jerusalem had a 31-23 second period charge getting the lead and Hapoel Tel-Aviv was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 87-102. Hapoel Jerusalem shot 60.7 percent from the field and made 18-of-23 charity shots (78.3 percent) during the game. Hapoel Jerusalem outrebounded Hapoel Tel-Aviv 34-20 including 23 on the defensive glass. It was a great shooting night for Hapoel Jerusalem especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.6 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international Yotam Halperin (196-84) who helped to win the game recording 13 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists. American guard Bracey Wright (191-84, college: Indiana, agency: Priority Sports) contributed with 22 points for the winners. Hapoel Jerusalem's coach Brad Greenberg allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. The former international Raviv Limonad (191-84) answered with 23 points and 7 assists and American power forward Josh Owens (203-88, college: Stanford) added 17 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Hapoel Tel-Aviv. Five Hapoel Jerusalem and four Hapoel Tel-Aviv players scored in double figures. Hapoel Jerusalem have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain first place with 20-5 record. Hapoel Tel-Aviv at the other side dropped to the fifth position with ten games lost. Hapoel Jerusalem will play against Maccabi Haifa (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Hapoel Tel-Aviv's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Tel-Aviv Maccabi T-A.
