No shocking result in a game when fifth ranked Fukuoka Rizing (23-21) beat at home 8th ranked Takamatsu FA (18-26) 80-67 on Sunday. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Fukuoka Rizing outrebounded Takamatsu FA 37-20 including a 14-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. Takamatsu FA was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. American forward David Palmer (201-82, college: S.Utah) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 15 rebounds. Trinidad and Tobago power forward Julius Ashby (205-82, college: Colorado) contributed with 10 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Fukuoka Rizing's coach Jamie Duncan used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American forward Andrais Thornton (203-85, college: NW Missouri St.) replied with 17 points and 4 steals and his fellow American import swingman Dexter Lyons (198-81, college: Cent.Florida, agency: I.D.S. Law) added 16 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Takamatsu FA. Fukuoka Rizing have an impressive seven-game winning streak.
