Second Stage Round 3: Asseco - Slask Wroclaw 88-89

The game between closely ranked teams ended with Asseco's (12-13) home loss to Slask Wroclaw (14-12) 88-89 on Monday. Asseco was trailing by 5 points at halftime but managed to get 3-point lead after three quarters before a 31-27 charge of Slask Wroclaw, which allowed them to win the game. It was a great shooting night for Slask Wroclaw especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.4 percentage. The best player for the winners was the former international point guard Robert Skibniewski (182-83) who had a double-double by scoring 25 points and 10 assists. American Dominique Johnson (189-87, college: Azusa Pacific) chipped in 26 points. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international forward Piotr Szczotka (196-81, agency: Alti Sport) who recorded 23 points and 6 rebounds and Russian Fedor Dmitriev (204-84, agency: Alti Sport) added 21 points respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Asseco's coach David Dedek tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Slask Wroclaw will face AZS Koszalin (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Asseco will play against Stabill Jezioro and hope to win that game.
