The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Flamengo (26-6) in Mogi das Cruzes on Tuesday night. Visitors were defeated by twelfth ranked Mogi (14-18) 94-90. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Flamengo. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Flamengo won third quarter 21-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Mogi forced 19 Flamengo turnovers and outrebounded them 39-24 including 25 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Jason Smith (183-83, college: Al.-Huntsville) who helped to win the game recording 18 points and 4 assists and point guard Jefferson Campos (190-91) who added 13 points and 4 assists during the contest. Four Mogi players scored in double figures. Mogi's coach Francisco Garcia used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. The best for the losing side was the former international Marcelo Magalhaes (201-75, agency: Interperformances) with 28 points and 6 assists (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) and the former international forward Olivinha Rodriguez (202-83) produced a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds. Mogi have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain twelfth position with 14-18 record. Flamengo at the other side still keeps top place with six games lost.
