There was no surprise when 12th ranked Denain Voltaire (17-20) was defeated at home by second ranked SO Maritime Boulogne (26-11) 86-77 on Tuesday. The guests trailed by 5 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 1-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 86-77. American forward Zachery Peacock (203-87, college: Georgia Tech, agency: Pro One Sports) fired 19 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Mehdi Cheriet (204-87, college: San Diego St.) chipped in 22 points. American point guard Maurice Acker (176-87, college: Marquette) produced 15 points and 4 assists and forward Valentin Bigote (196-92) added 11 points respectively for lost side. Five Denain Voltaire players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. SO Maritime Boulogne keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Chalons-Reims. Loser Denain Voltaire dropped to the eleventh place with 20 games lost. SO Maritime Boulogne will face Hyeres-Toulon (#9) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Denain Voltaire will play against Orchesien BC in Orchies and hope to win that game.
