Regular Season Round 37: Nantes - Hyeres-Toulon 77-69

We should mention about the upset which took place in Nantes, where higher ranked Hyeres-Toulon (19-18) lost to fifteenth ranked Nantes (15-22) in a road game 69-77. It looked good early as Hyeres-Toulon took an 3-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Nantes had a 23-13 second period charge getting the lead and Hyeres-Toulon was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 69-77. They outrebounded Hyeres-Toulon 38-26 including 26 on the defensive glass. American Allen Durham (198-88, college: Grace Bible) nailed a double-double by scoring 17 points, 14 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 blocks for the winning side and his fellow American import center Todd O'Brien (213-89, college: UAB) accounted for 12 points and 5 rebounds. Durham is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Nantes players scored in double figures. American guard Pierre Pierce (193-83, college: Iowa) came up with 28 points and point guard Axel Julien (185-92) added 14 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists respectively for Hyeres-Toulon in the defeat. Nantes moved-up to fourteenth place. Hyeres-Toulon at the other side keeps the eighth position with 18 games lost. Nantes' next round opponent will be higher ranked Poitiers (#8) on the road and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
