Regular Season Round 24: Mondeville - Tarbes 72-65

Date: April 1, 2014
We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams when twelfth ranked Mondeville (7-17) beat at home 11th ranked Tarbes (7-17) 72-65 on Tuesday. Tarbes was trailing by 3 points at halftime but managed to get 5-point lead after three quarters before a 24-12 charge of Mondeville, which allowed them to win the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Courtney Hurt (185-90, college: VCU) who helped to win the game recording 19 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and Senegalese power forward Oumou Toure (190-88) who added 10 points and 11 rebounds during the contest. Mondeville's coach Romain Lhermitte used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was Serbian Jovana Rad (187-87, agency: Josep and Nicolas) with 23 points and 7 rebounds and Ukrainian-Bulgarian center Viktoria Mircheva (190-87) produced a double-double by scoring 13 points and 13 rebounds. Mondeville moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Tarbes and Union Hainaut. Tarbes lost fifth consecutive game. Mondeville will meet higher ranked Nantes Reze (#6) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Tarbes will play against Union Hainaut (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
